CampLab

Privacy charter. CampLab is built so your photos never leave your hands. This page says exactly what it does and doesn't do with them.

1Your photos stay on your device

Developing happens entirely in your browser. Photos you add are read on your device, turned into prints on your device, and saved back to your device. They are never uploaded, stored on a server or seen by anyone else. Closing or reloading the page forgets them.

2Saved prints carry no hidden details

CampLab reads one piece of information from a photo: the date your camera saved, and only to print the date stamp if you switch it on. Prints you save are brand new images, so they don't carry the original's camera details or any location data.

3No accounts, tracking or ads

  • No sign-up, no account and no email address.
  • No analytics, tracking pixels, advertising or cookies.
  • No third-party scripts or fonts: everything the page needs is served from CampLab's own site, and the site's security settings stop the page from contacting anywhere else.

4What's remembered, and where

To save you setting things up again, CampLab keeps a few choices in your browser's own storage on this device: your film stock recipe and print settings, your presets, and the recipes you put on the dial. They're never sent anywhere, and you can wipe them at any time.

5Your camera is yours

CampLab never connects to your camera. You download the filter files and copy them over yourself. Each .flt file holds just seven numbers for colour, contrast and brightness: nothing about you or your photos.

6Hosting

CampLab is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare may keep standard request logs, such as IP address and time of visit, to keep the service running and secure. CampLab itself collects nothing on top of that.
